Digital Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a technology that uses sound waves to image soft tissue structures, such as tendons, ligaments, fluid structures (i.e. abscesses), and internal organs. Ultrasound does not penetrate bone or air (as in the lungs). Although ultrasound is very useful for examining the surface of bone and lung tissue, other diagnostic modalities may be required to fully evaluate these types of structures. EMA has two portable digital ultrasound machines.
